The Amazon Fire Stick is the most popular way to install IPTV in Europe, and for good reason: it costs less than a month of cable, plugs into any TV with an HDMI port, and runs the best IPTV players available. This guide shows you how to install IPTV on Firestick from scratch, in under 10 minutes, even if you have never done it before.

You will need three things: a Fire Stick connected to Wi-Fi, an IPTV subscription (your M3U link or Xtream Codes login), and the free Downloader app from the Amazon store. If you don’t have a subscription yet, you can request a free trial and follow along.

Step 1: Allow apps from unknown sources

IPTV players are not in the Amazon App Store, so you have to allow “sideloading” once.

  1. From the Fire Stick home screen, go to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options.
  2. Select Install unknown apps (on older models: Apps from Unknown Sources).
  3. Turn it ON for Downloader (we install Downloader in the next step; if it’s not listed yet, come back after Step 2).

If you don’t see Developer Options, go to Settings → My Fire TV → About, click Fire TV Stick seven times, and the menu will appear.

Step 2: Install the Downloader app

  1. Go back to the home screen and open the search (magnifying glass).
  2. Type Downloader and install the orange app by AFTVnews.
  3. Open it and allow the permissions it asks for.

Downloader is a simple browser that lets you install an APK (Android app file) directly on the Fire Stick.

Step 3: Install IPTV Smarters Pro

IPTV Smarters Pro is the player we recommend for beginners: clean interface, EPG (TV guide), catch-up, and multi-screen.

  1. Open Downloader and click the URL field.
  2. Enter the official IPTV Smarters download address (we send it with your subscription; never use random links from forums).
  3. Press Go, wait for the download, then click Install.
  4. When it finishes, choose Open.

Prefer another player? TiviMate and XCIPTV work the same way — only the app URL changes.

Step 4: Log in with your IPTV subscription

Open IPTV Smarters Pro and choose Login with Xtream Codes API (fastest option):

Alternatively choose Load your playlist or file/URL and paste your M3U link.

Tap Add User, wait 20–60 seconds while channels and the EPG load, and you’re in. You’ll see Live TV, Movies, and Series on the main screen.

Step 5: Optimise the Fire Stick for zero buffering

Most “IPTV buffering” complaints on Firestick come from the device, not the service. Do these once:

With a stable server, a 25 Mbps connection is enough for FHD and 40–50 Mbps for 4K. STORY IPTV servers use automatic load balancing, so big matches don’t overload the stream.

Troubleshooting common problems

“Parse error” when installing — the APK download was incomplete. Delete it in Downloader → Files and download again.

Channels load but the screen is black — in IPTV Smarters go to Settings → Player Settings and switch the Live TV player to Exo Player (or VLC if you installed it).

Login fails — copy-paste the credentials instead of typing them; a single wrong character in the URL is the usual cause. Also confirm your subscription hasn’t expired.

EPG is empty — wait 2–3 minutes after first login, then pull down to refresh. The guide updates automatically afterwards.

Which Fire Stick should you buy for IPTV?

Any current model works. The Fire TV Stick 4K Max is the best value for IPTV: faster processor, Wi-Fi 6, and it handles 4K streams without stutter. The standard Fire TV Stick is fine for HD.

Ready to watch?

That’s it: five steps and your Fire Stick is a full IPTV box with 50,000+ channels and 200,000+ movies and series. If you’d like to test it before subscribing, ask for a free trial on WhatsApp — activation takes a few minutes — or compare our subscription plans.
